Interaction of quasi-two-dimensional vortical gusts with airfoils, unswept and swept wings

چکیده
Abstract A nearly two-dimensional vortex of small core size has been produced by the transient plunging motion an upstream airfoil and it interacted with downstream wings. Depending on offset distance wing angle attack, incident filament deforms, diffuses, loses coherence, while inducing leading-edge formation shedding from wing. No significant spanwise flow develops in vortices during interaction. The interaction swept at each plane appears to be unaffected other planes. counter-clockwise induces a positive lift peak as approaches wing, which can predicted potential assumption. force is proportional circulation its maximum near zero-offset distance. minimum coefficient reached after just passed caused separation lower surface. coefficients for finite unswept wings estimated making correction aspect ratio using independence principle. only exception observed post-stall attack becomes parallel increases force. 15 صفحه اولHydrodynamic interaction in quasi-two-dimensional suspensions
Confinement between two parallel surfaces is found, theoretically and experimentally, to drastically affect the hydrodynamic interaction between colloid particles, changing the sign of the coupling, its decay with distance and its concentration dependence. In particular, we show that three-body effects do not modify the coupling at large distances as would be expected from hydrodynamic screening.

A new numerical technique for the simulation of forced two-dimensional turbulence [D. Dritschel and J. Fontane, “The combined Lagrangian advection method,” J. Comput. متن کاملQuasi-two Dimensional Hydrodynamics and Interaction of Vortex Tubes
This paper is long overdue. The most of the results presented here were obtained in 1986-87. Just a small portion of them (the equations for dynamics of the pair of counter-rotating vortices and their self-similar solutions) were published in time in 1988 [1]. The publication was very brief and did not include any details of the calculations. Nevertheless, it was noticed and then generously cit...
متن کاملIterative Solution of Transonic Flows over Airfoils and Wings,
Transonic aerodynamics is the focus of strong interest at the present time because it is known to encompass one of the most efficient regimes of flight. While current transport aircraft operate just below the speed of sound, more radical aerodynamic designs, such as R. T. Jones’ proposal for a yawed wing in [1], favor operation at low supersonic speeds in the range from Mach 1 to 1.3 (a regime ...
